Here is this month’s Fishing Update – November 2016. We will be bringing these to you on a monthly basis to give you a round up on the fishing around the region.

We had a very cool start to this spring as winter hung around much longer than usual. This has meant the Golden Perch have only just started to fire in some waterways, so now is the time to be out fishing!

Copeton up in Northern NSW is fishing okay with Golden Perch and Murray Cod still being caught. There is no closed season in Copeton for Cod anymore so you can target them during spring. The cod are much tougher to catch at the moment compared to during winter, this may be due to all the food that’s in abundance at the moment. The Golden Perch are still being caught and Adam Townsend has been getting onto a few good fish.

Windamere has been very tough over the past month or so but I have heard some reports that it’s only just starting to fire now because of the late winter. Now might be the time to head up that way for a fish.

Burrendong is fishing a lot slower than it has in previous years, but in saying that there are still fish to be caught. The best technique is to use your sounder to find schools of fish in against the trees and either troll through them or tie up to the tree and slow roll soft plastic grub tails vertically up to the boat.

Blowering is going to be a late firer this year because of the cool water temperatures. Now is the time to be up there working along the rocky banks or casting to the flooded trees along the edges.

Burrinjuck is very similar to Blowering and now that the water has settled a bit the fishing is picking up. Definitely worth a fish up there over the next few weeks.

One place which is sure to be fishing great is Lake Eildon in VIC. We are off to fish there later this week and we will be sure to let you all know how we go. The Golden Perch and Murray Cod should be on the move and feeding well! So stay tuned for more information on Lake Eildon.
